PORTRAIT OF A RAVE

Some nice pictures have just surfaced of the big Warehouse rave we did in LDN a month or so back, props to Small Chips from Beat3 for these. Word is we’ll be doing another one of these soon >>>> :-0

Senseless in Cardiff and Bristol

First up another round of huuuuge thanks to everyone that came and partied last weekend at Cafe 1001, ten hours of International Bass mayhem!

Down to business..
Our boy Pacheko is over in Europe and we’re doing a couple of Senseless showcases. Set your co-ordinates for the South and West. First stop is at Cardiff Arts Institute with the crew behind the excellent Chrome Kids blog. Pacheko and DeVille will be dropping the international bass bombs. They know how to party in Wales, get ready…
Here’s what they say:
The the following weekend we head back across the border to Bristol for a MONSTER of a line up. Huge shouts to Hivemind FM and Brock Out on this one, we’ve pulled together a killer line up of Senseless affiliated artists. I could go on but I think the incredible flyer can do the talking. Nuff hyperbole for now come on down:

Slugabed, Warlock, Headcleaner, Ghosttown plus many more coming up later this month...

Massive love and respect to everyone that came and represented last Saturday for the Senseless Karnival Rave showdown. Amazing vibes, amazing variety of music and almost 2000 people passing though across the night. From Jerome Hill’s lazer guided acid through to the massive one mic MC session that lasted through Sarantis, DeVille and Daddy Nature’s sets the night was truly legendary, too many highlights to talk about here (But respect No Names, Balki, Beat3, Absnif, Flirta D, Ishu etc etc) Special mention to all the visual artists who passed through and decorated the place, some legends on the walls too.

Onwards to the next rave, a showcase where we try and pack in as many of the sounds we love at the label in to one an all day Sunday thing on Brick Lane. Keeping the heat up in late summer with a storming line up, two rooms of music all day, live acts, DJs, BBQ and live Graff its going to be proper.
Facebook event is HERE
Line Up:
Slugabed (Planet Mu/Ramp/Senseless)
www.myspace.com/slugabedmusic
A wall of sound 2011 style from the man like Sluga. From gfunk to lazer crunk, your jaw will hit the floor. Like no other
Warlock (Rag & Bone/Senseless)
www.ragandbonerecords.co.uk
One of our favourite artists on the label, a big inspiration from the old school days and right now. We were very pleased he dropped a remix for us earlier this year and even happier to welcome him back to a Senseless rave. A spontaneous mash up of all things dark and bass heavy but above all, big tunes. Expect anything from the contemporary flavas of dubstep, mutant bassline, fidget, funky and tropical, and of course the odd old skool rarity.
Singer Blue LIVE (Dubateers)
www.myspace.com/singerbluedub
An unsung hero of UK roots, Singer Blue has been doing this thing since before most of us and has toured and recorded extensively with the mighty Dubateers. Live and direct with a rare solo set.
Billy Nasty BASS SET (Electrix)
www.myspace.com/djbillynasty
An absolute legend of the UK techno/electro scene drops and exclusive bass music set for Senseless. For the few of you who don’t know Billy started DJing house music, rare groove and funk in the late 1980s and got introduced to electronic dance music while working at the now defunct Zoom Records store in Camden, London. Billy Nasty has long been surfing dance music’s vanguard.

Ghosttown ft Special Guest MCs (Senseless/Dented)

http://www.myspace.com/backwardbeeps

‘You Know’ ft Badness was Ghosttown’s first solo release, before that he was a beatmaker for Foreign Beggars, Frank and Dank, Dudley Perkins and a whole load of other world class MCs. Wonky hip hop meets bashment, funk and grime. 100% his own productions with special guests on the MIC.

Headcleaner LIVE (Terra/Rephlex)

http://www.myspace.com/daveheadcleaner

Analogue rave synth warrior bringing the alien frequencies from his bank of homemade 100% analogue equipment. You will not see another live show like this this year, or maybe ever. Headcleaner made his name with a release on Aphex Twin’s label, and recommendations don;t come much higher than that but since then he’s solidified it with a cutting edge approach to live performance and production and constant shows round the UK and beyond.

DeVille (Senseless)

Co-owner of the label DeVille is known for mixing up the full spectrum of UK bass with international influences from the Carribean, Africa and South America. Heavy bass meets rave in a karnival fashion.

Murlo (Angry Dance Party/Square Roots)

http://myspace.com/djmurlo

Murlo is a multitalented lover of all things tropical and has turned in two excellent remixes for Senseless this year. As a producer he mixes up a unique blend of soca, garage and bashy house that has the blogs on fire. His first release is due later in 2010 on a very exciting new label. Did we mention he’s also an incredible illustrator?

Beat3

Our good friends from one of the UK’s best small nights. Responsible for founding Donky Pitch back at the start of 2009 the Donky Pitch DJs approach is one of simplicity, playing and championing exciting and fresh synth and bass music.

Pieface (Life4Land)

Part of the infamous free party crew Pieface is equally well known for his skills on the wheels as with a spraycan. He’ll be diggin deep in to his extensive collection for roots, dancehall, dub, jungle and more.

No Names (Foreign Beggars)

www.myspace.com/djnonames

The DJ behind the UK’s best hip hop crew as well as touring DJ work for Unkle and Kyza but just as well known as a DJ in his own right. Hip hop and grime meets future heavy bass. Check his monthly mixes online.

Jerome Hill

http://www.swervingthecommunity.com/

An underground hero who draws from old and new records from his extensive selection of house, techno and acid. Loved as much round the world as he is in London his set is likely to be something special for the late night crew.

Ghosttown ft Special Guest MCs

http://www.myspace.com/backwardbeeps

‘You Know’ ft Badness was Ghosttown’s first solo release, before that he was a beatmaker for Foreign Beggars, Frank and Dank, Dudley Perkins and a whole load of other world class MCs. Wonky hip hop meets bashment, funk and grime. 100% his own productions with special guests on the MIC.

Sarantis ft MC Dialect (Black Acre/Senseless)

Sarantis is known for his wildly inventive production and heavy, dirty sound. A mix up of dubstep, techno and grime with Senseless Records’ resident MC Dialect on the MIC.

Daddy Nature (Urban Nerds)

One of the brains behind the mighty Urban Nerds and a fine DJ to match, a love of old school jungle meets an extensive heavy bass collection across all genres.

Beat3

soundcloud.com/beat3productions

Representing a UK take on the West Coast USA sound of glitch hop in less than a year Beat3 have played Secret Garden festival and Fabric with a string of releases forthcoming.

Balki
